BURIAL VAULTS

Burial vaults are required at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park.  A burial vault is a container, usually made of concrete or a combination of concrete and other materials, in which a casket is placed prior to burial.

Burial vaults are usually purchased through a funeral director.  At Mt. Olivet, we only offer a concrete grave liner (also called a grave box).  These boxes serve the purpose of offering ground support and protect the casket from collapsing due to pressure from the ground.  Grave liners have no lining and they do not seal, so they offer minimal protection from water and the elements.

If a grave liner is purchased in place of a vault - you will not need to purchase both a grave liner and a vault.
